Meet Our Staff
Mary Ramsey
Owner, Head Trainer and Instructor: Mary Ramsey established Royal Stables in 1990 after riding and showing at all levels of competition in multiple disciplines for her entire life. She has worked in nearly all aspects of the equine industry and continues to teach and coach students, train horses and breed and show Appaloosas and Quarter Horses with specialties in English, Hunters, Gaming and Reining. She is a multipe time ApHC World Show Qualifyer and competitor. Mary rode Sheza Birhgt CoStar (owned by Diane Lindeborn of Dimond L Appaloosas) to a Top Ten in 2009!
Irene Townsend
Trainer and Instructor: Irene has a Bachelors of Science degree in Equine Science and Manangement, from SUNY Morrisville. She Started riding at a young age and took lessons from Mary when she was eight years old. She trains young horses, instructs students and shows in English and Western disciplines specializing in Hunter Under Saddle and Reining. She rode MSU Investinmyleague to AQHA Open High Point Champion at the NY State Fair(2008), and took AQHA stallion Mr Good N Fancy to a Regional Halter Championship (2009). Watch for Irene and a variety of horses through out the show season at various shows and locations!
Ernie Bragg
Farrier :Ernie Bragg is our resident Cowboy and Farrier. Originally from Maine, Ernie has ridden and shown horses all of his life in every discipline from English to Western and Saddle Seat to Rodeo. He has been shoeing horses since he was 16 years old and attended the Oklahoma Farriers School, in Oklahoma.
Barry Ramsey
Mr. Fix It/ Farm Maintenance: If it needs to be hauled, baled, stacked, dug or repaired Barry's your man. He also hires some of his services out to the local community. When Barry is not around the barn he works for the Town of Adams Highway Department.
Paul Leepy
Mr.Reliable/ Stable Laborer: 7 days a week Paul is here every morning to help make sure the horses are fed and the stalls are cleaned.
